With rising rates of antimicrobial resistance, all providers should be using best practice when treating antimicrobials are indicated in treatment - and learning when they are not. This talk aims to educate providers on the practice of evidence-based antimicrobial stewardship. Seeks to teach providers how to choose the most narrow-spectrum agent for selected indication through the appropriate dose, route, and duration; minimize development of multidrug resistant organisms; and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

Speaker bio: Jared is an Infectious Diseases/Antimicrobial Stewardship Clinical Pharmacy Specialist Stewardship for the Baptist Health System in Arkansas, and Clinical Assistant Professor for UAMS College of Pharmacy. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy in 2016.
