Arkansas PAs Take Capital Hill

Posted almost 5 years ago by Tara Bruner

Arkansas Academy of PAs Legislative Committee member, Ms. Sara E. Vann, PA-C, along with Ms. Tracie Allen, PA-C, participated in PAs on the Hill, while attending the American Academy of PAs: Leadership and Advocacy Summit, this month in our nation’s Capitol.   Along with other PAs from around the country, they met with members and staffers for our Senators and Representatives.

Ms. Vann and Ms. Allen were able to meet with staff for Senator John Boozman, Senator Tom Cotton, Representative Rick Crawford, and Representative Steve Womack.  In these meetings, they were able to advocate for PAs and our patients by discussing the Access to Diabetic Shoes Act and the PA Direct Payment Act.

Find out more about the 116th Congress AAPA Policy Priorities and Facts sheets and how they affect you and your patients at https://www.aapa.org/advocacy-central/federal-advocacy/aapa-policy-priorities-factsheets/

Be sure to reach out to your Senators and Representatives to ask for their support in providing access to our care for all Arkansans.   Find your AR Representative https://www.arkansashouse.org/learn/district-map
