YOUR Support Needed!

ARAPA is proud to say that three bills to improve PA practice in Arkansas have all passed through the Senate. SB99 (delegation to medical staff), SB100 (PCP status), and SB101 (licensure compact) all passed the Senate floor without opposition. You can read more about these initiatives in our recent newsletter.

These bills will all now face votes in the House, and we need YOUR support. Currently, we are garnering a physician letter of support for SB100 which allows PAs to be designated as primary care providers (PCPs) with Medicaid. This commonsense solution allows for better transparency, expanded access to care, and eliminates delays of care which arise when patients need timely orders signed by a PCP.

Please read this letter of support and share with your supervising physician, backups, or any other physician colleagues you know. We know that physicians support this measure as it expands access to care and decreases their own workload, so we want to demonstrate this support to legislators! You can contact Aaron Woodall at president@arkansaspa.org or text at 501-650-5793 to add names, or simply comment on the document. We will need the name and credentials of the physician, along with either their specialty or job title. Please contact Aaron with any questions. Please add names by Sunday, March 16.

Be on the lookout for other legislative updates this session and other opportunities to voice your support for the PA profession in Arkansas!
