Student Scholarship to Attend AAPA Leadership and Advocacy Summit

Posted 9 months ago by Aaron Woodall

ARAPA is proud to sponsor a scholarship of up to $2,000 for an Arkansas PA student to attend AAPA's Leadership and Advocacy Summit (LAS). LAS is an annual CME conference, held in Washington, DC this year from September 27-30. It is a chance for PAs and PA students to learn more about legislative efforts and how to advocate for our profession. Notably, attendees get to spend a day on Capitol Hill and meet with their elected representatives to discuss PA issues. This is a great opportunity to represent Arkansas and to develop leadership skills. More information about LAS can be found here.

Eligibility: current PA student (at the time of application) enrolled in an Arkansas program in good academic standing with an active AAPA and ARAPA membership.

Scholarship covers up to $2,000 of related expenses including registration fees, airfare, lodging, travel, and meals. Selected scholar will submit receipts for reimbursement or can coordinate bookings with ARAPA president/treasurer.

Application deadline: Sunday, August 13 at 11:59 pm.

ARAPA's Communications and Outreach Committee will review applications and select a recipient based on written response. The committee will verify eligibility with student's faculty and notify the selected scholar within 1 week of application deadline.

Interested students should apply here and can submit an optional but recommended CV to outreach@arkansaspa.org. Please contact the outreach committee or Aaron Woodall at presidentelect@arkansaspa.org with any questions.
