Provision for PAs in Hospice Care

Posted about 6 years ago by Christopher Davis

Last week, Congress passed and the President signed into law a provision that allows PAs to manage and provide hospice care to Medicare patients. The new law also allows PAs to supervise cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs under the Medicare program.  These improvements will continue allow for care of Medicare patients and for them to receive high-quality healthcare from PAs.  This is a huge effort where AAPA has worked toward modernizing language and working with legislative bodies to help expand physician assistants ability to provide care.
