Additional Information
Dear ARAPA members,
We are excited to announce our first PA Day at the Capitol, in honor of National PA Week, on October 9th. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to join your fellow Arkansas PAs, PA students, and PA supporters in an event to educate our governing officials on the PA profession and our role in the healthcare of Arkansans. Through targeted advocacy events such as this, we can build the alliances that will be needed for future modernization of our practice acts and resolution of insurance and policy hurdles that Arkansas PAs face daily. Together, we can make a difference.
The tentative outline of the event includes:
- 12-1 pm: Optional lunch on your own at the 500 Grill in the basement of the Capitol
- 1 pm: Meet in the Rotunda on the 2nd floor for opening remarks and a group photo with Governor Asa Hutchinson to commemorate the 2019 PA Week Proclamation
- 1:15 - 2:30pm: Update on Arkansas PA issues
- 2:30- 4pm: Break into small groups to meet with your senator or representative and/or their staffers to educate them on the PA profession
Additionally, we are excited to partner with the Arkansas Health Department to provide free flu shots to capitol employees and the community throughout the event.
Please watch for further details on registration for this free event.
